First Ag Family Summer Program Trip Success!

In partnership with Friends of Fieldworkers and United Farm Workers, 26 youth ages 9 to 18 and seven chaperones traveled to Santa Cruz Island.
VCRCD x OPHS Restoration Project— Second Field Day Success!

On March 5th, we held our second and final field day for our SLEWS program. 13 of the 16 OPHS students return to the restoration site to check plant progress, weed, and monitor monarch eggs and caterpillars.

On January 10th our Restoration Team, in collaboration with our Education & Outreach Coordinator, hosted their first Field Day with 16 OPHS students from the National Honor Society Club.
Monarch Butterfly Education in Schools

VCRCD was recently invited by Ascension Lutheran School in Thousand Oaks to come speak to several classes about monarch butterflies. Spreading our love for conservation with future environmental stewards is one of the highlights of our work at the VCRCD.
