Winter is the cooler, rainy season when roots establish and plants grow in the southern California climate. In Ventura County, we have been fortunate this winter with well-timed rains and our new plantings have thrived. Some of our favorite native plants are blooming now including California Bush Sunflower and Hummingbird

On January 10th our Restoration Team, in collaboration with our Education & Outreach Coordinator, hosted their first Field Day with 16 OPHS students from the National Honor Society Club.
In 2025 we grew our programs, welcomed 4 new hires, bid a bittersweet farewell to coworkers embarking on their next journeys, and expanded our fundraising efforts through the creation of our Development Team.
