Winter is the cooler, rainy season when roots establish and plants grow in the southern California climate. In Ventura County, we have been fortunate this winter with well-timed rains and our new plantings have thrived. On January 10th our Restoration Team, in collaboration with our Education & Outreach Coordinator, hosted their first Field Day with 16 OPHS students from the National Honor Society Club.
In 2025 we grew our programs, welcomed 4 new hires, bid a bittersweet farewell to coworkers embarking on their next journeys, and expanded our fundraising efforts through the creation of our Development Team.
Big milestone this week: VCRCD staff planted the last of the 400 oaks on the property that allow us to meet the deliverable for the grant!
