VCRCD’s pilot program, Ventura River Watershed: Watershed Resilience for a Changing Climate, recently held an Interactive Forum on April 30th, 2025 at Camp Arnaz. This forum invited representatives from organizations involved in work throughout the watershed to attend. Representatives from local water agencies, environmental organizations, community groups, and the public attended the forum to provide invaluable input and direction to the project.
Through a series of interactive exercises attendees were invited to mark specific areas in the watershed that seemed especially vulnerable to climate hazards, identify potential problems in the watershed due to climate change, and helped draft a vision statement for a future watershed resiliency plan.
This was the first of a series of forums that will inform the project. Funding for this program is provided by the California Department of Water Resources as part of the Watershed Resilience Program.
