Each new month brings new, in-season produce. Purchasing produce that is in-season lasts longer, tastes better, and is more affordable than its out-of-season counterparts! California’s unique climate allows for a blend of winter produce with a sneak peek of spring flavors, creating a fun and diverse selection of produce in February.

For vegetables, keep an eye out for lots of green! In-season vegetables for the month of February include leafy greens like cabbage, kale, and spinach, along with cruciferous veggies like broccoli and brussels sprouts. Additionally, other vegetables like asparagus, winter squash, and leeks are all in-season options for produce.

For fruit, February is citrus-galore! Lemons, limes, oranges, grapefruits, tangerines, and kumquats are all vibrant, tasty options for in-season fruit. Jam packed with Vitamin C, citrus provides us with an immunity boost for cold winter months that may bring more illness. In addition to citrus, you can also find kiwis and cherimoyas as in-season produce options.
